Ophthalmology Services

The Ophthalmology Service of the VTH provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for all species of animals. Patients are seen on a referral basis. Our diagnostic services include:

Routine examinations including slitlamp biomicroscopy, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, gonioscopy, and cytology
Ocular ultrasonography
Electroretinography
Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) certifications

Upon diagnosis, patients may be treated medically or surgically if needed. Treatment options might include:

Laser surgery for glaucoma and tumors
Cataract surgery
Cryosurgery
