Dr. Samantha Hart received her bachelor of veterinary medicine and surgery from Murdoch University, Murdoch, Western Australia, where she graduated with First Class Merit Honours in 2004. Prior to coming to the U.S., Dr. Hart worked at Balcatta Veterinary Hospital in Western Australia, not only as a veterinarian, but prior to finishing her degree, as head veterinary student, overnight veterinary nurse and receptionist as well. She has also demonstrated basic principles of equine handling and husbandry to 2nd year vet students as an equine teaching assistant. Dr. Hart participated in the EMC Neonatology Internship program, February-June 2005, and the Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship program July1, 2005-June 30, 2006. Dr. Hart began her equine surgery residency program on July 1, 2006.
